Sensors Converge engineers celebrated the listing of Silex Microsystems AB on the Nasdaq Stockholm exchange on Thursday.
Tim Brosnihan, executive director of business development for Silex, called out the achievement during his onstage talk the same day at the Sensors event in Santa Clara, Calif., where the company exhibited.
The company is considered the leading pure-play MEMS foundry globally and is based in Stockholm, Sweden. It has been in operations for 25 years and said in a prospectus that it intended to use IPO proceeds to support its strategy of establishing US manufacturing capacity.
Silex’s foundry background highlighted other wafer, sensor and semiconductor fabrication participants and attendees at Sensors Converge.
They included SC exhibitor InchFab, a MEMS foundry based in Sunnyvale, Calif., and SC participant Pure Wafer of Prescott, Ariz., a supplier of virgin silicon wafers and wafer reclamation services.
