QuickPlay, one of the companies that has emerged to deliver video to tablet PCs and other devices, has acquired the FLO TV operations center in San Diego that Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM) had shuttered along with its MediaFLO mobile TV venture.
QuickPlay already is working with service providers such as AT&T (NYSE: T) and Rogers Communications (NYSE: RCI) to manage and distribute video assets to a range of new mobile devices. Buying a 30,000-square-foot operations center will only bolster the company's ability to manage quality of service.
