The Model 408 from Temperature Product Groups, Measurement Specialties Inc., Dayton, OH, is a medical temperature probe with a wide surface area for fast response time. The FDA-registered and CE-marked device has a SS housing, a pressed disk ceramic sensor, a PVC cable, and 1/4 in. phone plug connector. Typical response time in stirred fluid is <3 s. Sensor is interchangeable ±0.1°C, 25°C–45°C per EN 12470. Applications include continuous patient monitoring, localized temperature measurement, and surface measurement.
