The PSC-360 from Piher North America, Libertyville, IL, is a noncontacting programmable Hall effect magnetic sensor with a switching point programmable for any angle. Features include 0.5% accuracy over 360°, operating temperature range from –40°C to 150°C, and a standard 0.25 in. D flat shaft in a 13 mm low-profile package. The low-current switch design incorporates on and off positions that provide a secondary position verification. The sensor is only sensitive to the flux density coplanar with the IC surface; the package maintains a true noncontacting air gap between the rotating magnet and fixed sensing system.
