The GS1010 from GainSpan, Sunnyvale, CA, is an ultra-low-power SoC that uses WiFi, allowing you to deploy wireless sensor systems using standard tools and integrate them seamlessly into existing management systems, including enterprise network management systems. The single-chip device combines an IEEE 802.11b/g radio, two 32-bit ARM7 microcontrollers, a real-time clock, power management unit, Flash and SRAM memories along with multiple I/O and support for location awareness. The 10 by 10 mm chip includes SPI, UART, PWM, I2C, ADC, and GPIO. The GS1010 SoC evaluation kit includes a battery, antenna, and UART to USB cable, 802.11b/g access point, and host software.
