The UVX-300G-REM from EMX Industries Inc., Cleveland, OH, is a UV luminescence sensor that uses a remote sensing head to provide high sensitivity and long-range target detection. The 0.7 by 0.8 by 1.2 in. head is connected to a control unit via a 1 m cable. The sensor control unit provides a visual readout and sends 0–5 V analog and discrete on/off signals to a master controller through a separate cable. Features include 5 user-selectable gain settings, relative reflection readings from 0–99, 350 mm operating distance, numerical readout of detection threshold and relative reflection intensity of each reading, and auto-teach and manual calibration.
