HD LCOS Chipset from OmniVision

OmniVision Technologies Inc., Santa Clara, CA, offers a liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) chipset for low-cost, low-power, and HD pico projection systems. The single-chip OVP7200 LCOS panel displays native 720-pixel HD video and its companion chip, the OVP921, provides image processing and other features to simplify system design. The OVP7200 single-panel, color field sequential LCOS device has a native resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels with 0.37 in. diagonal measurement and can be coupled with LED light sources. The OVP921 has built-in keystone correction, frame rate conversion, video input scaling, interface to LED controller, and an embedded microcontroller. It can accept video data from 24-bit RGB, MIPI, or USB inputs.
