MEMS commercialization study: Call for participation

Roger Grace, President, Roger Grace Associates, a marketing consultancy specializing in sensors and MEMS, has announced the call for participation in the 21st annual MEMS Industry Commercialization Report Card Study.  The purpose of the annual study is to monitor and report on the health of the MEMS industry.

Participants, made up of suppliers, end users, infrastructure providers and other ecosystem players, are asked to assess the current state of the industry across 14 success factors—from market research and established infrastructure to standards and industry roadmap.

“My intention in creating and publishing the unique MEMS Commercialization Report Card study is to build awareness in the MEMS community of the barriers to the rapid and successful commercialization of MEMS and the recommended strategies and actions required to overcome them,” said Grace.

The deadline to complete the report card form is September 9, 2020 with a $100 gift card provided to the winner of a random drawing of participants. All respondents will receive a copy of the final report.

The most recent 2018 Report Card resulted in a final grade of B- which has remained steady for the past several years and suggests opportunity for improvement. “I launched this report in 1998 and continue to revisit it every year in order to provide MEMS industry participants with an objective assessment of the critical success factors over time and to act as a tool to help them better understand, respond to and exploit the ever-changing dynamics and evolution of the MEMS industry,” said Grace.

This year’s report is currently scheduled to be presented at the MANCEF Commercialization of Emerging Technologies Conference (COMS World 2020), a virtual event taking place October 19-22, 2020.
