Sensors Converge 2025 panel video: Powering Real-World Intelligence at the Edge

Sensors are increasingly getting combined with AI at the edge as developers find ways to sense the environments around them in manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, smart cities and more.

It’s not just that AI is leaving the data center in favor of the edge, as much as AI is growing in both locations. One advantage of AI at the edge is the ability to conduct machine learning in a low-power device, sometimes even a battery-free device.

The subject came up at Sensors Converge 2025 in Santa Clara, CA,  and was discussed by a panel of experts, including moderator Michael Kuptz, VP of Development at the Edge AI Foundation. One panelist described his company’s mission this way: “to make sensors intelligent.”
